Mediation Refresher Training – AMDRAS

Elevate your mediation skills with our specialised Mediation Refresher Training, and Australian Mediator and Dispute Resolution Accreditation Standards Assessment for Australian Mediators workshop. 

This comprehensive training is designed to refresh and enhance your understanding of the Australian Mediator and Dispute Resolution Accreditation Standards (AMDRAS), and hone your mediation skills focusing on the latest techniques and best practice approaches. 

You’ll engage with expert facilitators to revisit core principles, refine your practice your skills, and explore new strategies for effective dispute resolution. Whether you are an experienced mediator seeking to update your skills or a practitioner new to AMDRAS, this workshop will provide valuable insights and practical tools to enhance your mediation practice in Australia. 

This course includes the assessment required to apply for accreditation as anAccredited Mediator under the AMDRAS.

Course structure 

  • 3 hours of required pre-learning.
  • Full-day workshop 9:15am – 4:45pm.
  • Assessment day 9:15am – 4:45pm AEDT on Thursday 3 April 2025.

Prerequisites

Entry into this course requires completion of mediation training previously and/or relevant mediation practice experience.

Participants will need to complete 3 hours required pre-learning before attending the live online workshop, through RAV’s interactive Learning Management System.

About the presenters

Astrid Horter is the program leader for learning delivery at Relationships Australia Victoria (RAV). She holds tertiary qualifications in law and psychology and is an experienced Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP), mediator and child consultant. Astrid leads the delivery of RAV’s accredited training programs, provides supervision to external organisations and designs and facilitates customised workshops. She has extensive experience working in community organisations as a clinical supervisor, trainer and manager.   

Adrien March is a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP) with a broad base of skills and experience, including mediation practice, training and dispute resolution research. Her practice experience covers mediating using facilitative and transformative models in the Family Dispute Resolution (FDR) and Australian Mediator and Dispute Resolution Accreditation Standards (AMDRAS) schemes. Adrien’s specialisations include working with rainbow families and high-conflict disputes. Her training expertise includes course development and conducting FDR and NMAS training, coaching and evaluation for RAV and other organisations. 

Cath Tregillis is a highly experienced Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP) with qualifications in dispute resolution and family therapy. She has worked across community organisations as a manager, clinical supervisor and trainer and has provided mediation and restorative processes in family, community and workplace settings. She is currently a trainer and assessor within Relationships Australia Victoria’s (RAVs) Family Dispute Resolution (FDR) and mediation training programs.

  • Please email RAV Accredited Training [email protected] to express interest in enrolling in this training with proof of mediation training previously undertaken, and/or relevant mediation practice experience.
  • Once your eligibility has been confirmed you will be invoiced for the cost of the training, and you will be granted access to RAV’s interactive Learning Management System (LMS) to complete the 3 hours of required pre-learning prior to attending the live online workshop. Related details for the training including a Zoom link to attend the live online workshop will also be available via this LMS.
  • Once your eligibility has been confirmed you will be invoiced for the cost of the training, and you will be added to our LMS where you will find all the related details for the training including a Zoom link to attend the live online workshops.
  • Registrations close 7 days before the event.
  • Workshops must be paid for at least 2 business days before the training date, or your registration will be cancelled.
  • If paying by invoice, proof of payment needs to be provided at least 24 hours ahead of the event.
