Narrative Therapy and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy

Learn strategies to help clients re-script their narratives and focus on their core values and behaviours.

Narrative therapy is a technique that aims to separate the individual from the problem, allowing them to externalise their issues rather than internalising them. It relies on the individual's own skills and sense of purpose to guide them through challenging times.

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy is a short-term, evidence-based therapeutic approach which focuses on helping clients to achieve their goals. Incorporating positive psychology principles and practices, it is designed to help clients change their thoughts and behaviour by building solutions rather than focusing on problems. This approach provides a hope friendly, positive emotion-eliciting, future-oriented vehicle to help clients formulate, motivate, achieve, and sustain desired behavioural change.
