This 8-session program can help you to:
- better understand and help your child navigate this important developmental phase
- strengthen your relationship with your child
- coach your child to manage strong emotions like worry, anger and sadness
- build your child’s problem solving, conflict resolution, and resilience skills
- help your child develop healthy friendships
- maintain important cultural values whilst also incorporating new parenting ideas and research
- understand how your own family experiences might affect you parent your children.
What to expect
The group facilitators are Afghan women who are fluent in several Afghan dialects and have parenting expertise.
You’ll learn about the topics above in a small group with other Afghan mothers.
Who attends
Afghan mothers with children aged 13 to 18 years.
You can attend with babies and pre-school children. We will provide child-minding support and refreshments.
