Here for you: 75 years of Relationships Australia Victoria
We’re pleased to share a new video that was developed as part of our 75th anniversary celebrations.
The 2023-24 year marks the 75th anniversary of Relationships Australia Victoria. We've come a long way in those 75 years, after first beginning in 1948 as a volunteer-based organisation. We initially provided counselling and education services in response to concerns about marriage, family and society after the end of the Second World War, but have grown and evolved over the years to deliver a diverse range of services that includes but extends far beyond our origins.
These include counselling; family dispute resolution (mediation); family violence programs; mental health services, Family Relationship Centres; professional training; support for Forgotten Australians/pre-1990 care leavers; and specialist programs.
It can be a big step to reach out for support, but we’re proud to have supported the over 620,000 clients who have trusted us across three-quarters of a decade.
We know just how important relationships and connection are, and that’s why our vision is for all Australians to have positive, respectful, safe and fulfilling relationships; whether relationships with partners, family, colleagues, neighbours or with ourselves.
So, no matter what journey you’re on, we're here for you, now and into the future.
