Article

26 June 2025

We’re currently recruiting for a new, part-time role to join our Relationships Australia Victoria (RAV) team in Ballarat as part of the Stronger Relationships project.

This Social Connections Officer will play an integral role in piloting RAV’s new community-focused, preventative initiative to strengthen relationships in Ballarat.

This role is part of our response following up a 2024 project RAV participated in, led by the Centre for Community Child Health (CCCH), involving an evidence review and collaborative co-design process with parents and local stakeholders. Together, the project explored ways to increase our impact and contribute to system-level changes that better support children and families as part of our prevention and early intervention strategy.

The Stronger Relationships project will respond to the following 3 priority actions identified in the CCCH project.

  1. Increase public awareness of the importance of relationships.
  2. Introduce a new role that actively increases social connection for families.
  3. Integrate supports and services in accessible community spaces.

Working closely with families, services and local partners, the Social Connections Officer will help ensure communities are connected, supported and equipped to foster life-long social and emotional wellbeing. By supporting a strong, connected 'village' of families and communities, we can create lasting, positive change.

Applications for the role of Social Connections Officer close 3 July.
