Supporting Children to Return to School

As schools and families across regional Victoria prepare for a staggered return to onsite learning in term 4, as part of the Victorian Government’s Third Step restrictions, it's understandable if you or your children are experiencing mixed feelings about the change.

Just as the transition to learning from home took some time for children and families to get used to, so too may the adjustment back to school.

We’ve put together some tips to help parents, guardians and carers to acknowledge the changes and talk with your children about how they’re feeling about returning to face-to-face learning, using these four steps.

  1. Listen and support
  2. Create a plan
  3. Give it time
  4. Get help if needed
